Fundraising

The Calendar idea I think is out the window, its been about a month and I still don't have any sketches and have not priced the printing costs either.  I think I 'll go with greeting cards, maybe even do one a series of Christmas cards.  That way if I don't sell them all, I am not left with outdated calendars that are of no value to me.  So hopefully in the near to immediate future I will find out the cost of my internship and be inspired to sketch some Christmas scenes.  Perhaps some Christmas music will do the trick.

Purity

On Monday night I went to Shiloh and Rickcola talked about purity.  But not just any purity, RADICAL purity.  This generation has the opportunity to see God work but only at a cost.  Matthew 5:8 says that only the pure in heart will see God, or as The Message puts it "You're blessed when you get your inside world-your mind and heart-put right. Then you ca see God in the outside world."   The only way the AIDS epidemic in Africa can be ceased is if this generation takes a stand for purity and abstains for sexual immorality.  The problem is, is that this generation has no standard.  It is up to Christian young people not to raise the standard, but to set it.  Living pure is seeking His face.

Last night on the radio Charles Stanley was talking about holiness (putrity) and that it is the utter abhorance of evil.  He said that so often we often flirt or indulge in evil and pass up the blessings God can only give if we are pure.

So what I am to do?  It should be obvious.  Get rid of the "L" by spending more time in the WORD then I do in the worLd.  By dying to flesh, fasting, praying and seeking his face through a pure life.  This is the way I need to prepare for my internship, for my missions career, for life both now and in eternity.

Beginnings

Well, I wasn't sure what to call this site, so its temporarily (or permanently) swaziadventure.blogspot.com.  I'm really hoping to got to Swaziland or South Africa, or wherever God takes me for my internship.

Its been really neat to tell people about this adventure.  I told Carol at work (McDonalds) and she told practically everyone else.   I never expected such interest in my trip.  Debbie suggested that I make and sell Calendars as a means for fundraising.  She even said she'd have an open house/bake sale for me at the end of the summer.

So here I am, waiting for confirmation of my destination, wanting to know how much it will cost . . . coming up with ideas for 12 sketches and how to market a calendar . . . but trusting in Jesus that all things will come to pass in His timing.
