What is in a name?

Do you know what your name means?  Heidi means 'noble' and Maria means 'bitter.'   The siSwati name I was given is Nobukhosi, nobu meaning of nobility and khosi can mean either lord or king, in this case it means princess.  "Noble Princess."  Last weekend I was called "Nomkhosi" because they sound similar.  I did not correct the person, because to do so would be very offensive.  Besides the prefix, "nom" means 'mother to,'  so my name would then mean "Mother of the King or Lord."   Since Maria is a form of Mary, to whom was born Jesus, then both of my siSwati names roughly mean both of my given names.

This week has been busy thus far and will only get busier.  I am taking a class here at the college and the work load is heavy.  I have my regular Bethany assignments, a craft to prepare for children's club on Saturday, a Sunday school lesson, and then I preach Monday morning in chapel.  Please pray that in my weakness God's strength would be evident to all, that I would give thanks in all the circumstances I find myself in and consider it pure joy.
